Liverpool: Fans slam Alan Brazil for criticising Jurgen Klopp’s absence for their FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury

Liverpool fans have criticised talkSPORT host Alan Brazil after he took aim at manager Jurgen Klopp for his stance on the FA Cup.
Brazil, who played for Tottenham and Manchester United during his playing career, was not impressed with the way that the German tactician conducted himself following his side’s 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury in the fourth round tie. This led to last night’s replay, where Klopp and his first team were absent. U23s boss Neil Critchley and his team took part in the fixture instead as the senior players respected the winter break imposed by the Premier League.
Brazil told talkSPORT on The Sports Breakfast that Klopp’s absence was a big issue as his Academy players will be fighting to impress him, adding that he could easily jump on a private plane to watch the team play. He was also irritated by the fact the Shrews would lose £500,000 in revenue due to cut ticket prices and no television coverage. Supporters did not agree with Brazil and made their feelings clear on social media.

People clamouring for fans to have cheaper tickets and when Liverpool do it we are costing Shrewsbury money. Maybe we should luck at why teams need random suprise ties to survive instead of expecting fans to pay the difference.

Klopp talks about not doing a Fergie/Wenger by staying in a job for that amount of time. The intensity and mental fatigue is every bit as big as physical fatigue. He is probably the best coach on the planet, with that in mind, who the hell can question his decisions? ALAN? NAH!

You don’t announce a winter break then put a game in it, players had been promised time off and booked trips accordingly, now the FA expects them to cancel and play another game during it.

Klopp is responsible for managing the Liverpool squad and getting results on the pitch. The finances of Shrewsbury Town are frankly not his problem.

It’s not Liverpool’s responsibility to ensure financial security for Shrewsbury Town.
