Liverpool: James Pearce squashes idea of Raheem Sterling return

A hot topic that is still circulating the Liverpool fanbase is the idea of Raheem Sterling making an Anfield return, however James Pearce is having absolutely none of it.
Following a social media Q&A session the England international recently hosted, Sterling was asked about his former club, to which he responded: “To be honest with you, I love Liverpool. Don’t get it twisted, they are always in my heart. It’s a team that done a lot for me growing up so…”
Given the manner of his exit back in the summer of 2015, it’s not hard to argue that a lot of the fanbase would never see Sterling in a red shirt again. With that in mind, Pearce has released a feature for The Athletic discussing a potential move back to Merseyside and fans are loving his hot take on the matter.
“The reality is that there’s more chance of Lord Lucan riding into Anfield on Shergar than Sterling returning to Liverpool any time soon,” the former Liverpool ECHO man wrote (via The Athletic).
Would Raheem Sterling get into Liverpool's team?
Yes

No

Indeed, many Reds supporters are relieved Pearce has debunked the whispers of Sterling’s potential return, with one fan saying the Englishman is ‘one of the only players I would never want to see’ back at Anfield.
He's one of the only former Liverpool players I would never want to see back at our club.

Imagine if Liverpool still had Sterling in the team!
The front three would be Mané, Firmino and Salah.— Jürgen Meister🇩🇪 (@SS_LFC) April 1, 2020
That’s great news James. I was getting a bit worried. Phew.
