PSG’s Thiago Silva is well placed to give his verdict on Liverpool’s latest signing, having played with him for Brazil and against him in France’s Ligue 1, the experienced centre-half has predicted a smooth transition for Fabinho as he looks to adapt to life in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp hasn’t wasted his time this summer, as he aims to win his first trophy on Merseyside next season having come up short in the Champions League final last Saturday.
The 24-year-old’s versatility is likely a key factor as to why Klopp opted to bring him to the club ahead of other defensive midfield options. The Brazilian started his Monaco career as a right-back, although it didn’t take him long to make the smooth move into midfield, much like Phillip Lahm did under Pep Guardiola, giving Liverpool fans the belief that he can help sure up the club’s defensive problems alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, who have bee outstanding for the Merseysiders this season.
