Liverpool’s excellent business in the transfer window shows no signs of slowing down.

Jurgen Klopp has significantly strengthened his squad this summer and Liverpool look best matched to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title. Fabinho and Naby Keita give the Reds two world-class options in the middle, and Xherdan Shaqiri adds some much-needed cover to the wide areas.

Following Loris Karius’ errors in pre-season, Klopp has also opted to spend a world-record amount to sign Alisson Becker from Roma to finally end the club’s goalkeeping problem. As well as their excellent signings, Liverpool also moved quickly to secure the future of one of their most promising youngsters. This week, Rhian Brewster put pen to paper on his first professional contract after attracting interest from all over Europe.

The forward was linked with moves to Paris St Germain and Juventus before committing his long-term future to the Reds.  Brewster is highly rated by Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy and is set for a role in the first-team once he returns from injury. With little options available up front other than Roberto Firmino, opportunities may be plentiful for the 18-year-old.

Brewster helped England lift the U17 World Cup back in October – scoring hat-tricks against the USA and Brazil as well as scoring against Spain in the final. He ended the competition with an incredible eight goals which saw him fast-tracked to the U23 squad before an injury ended his season prematurely.

Should Klopp not sign a striker this summer, it is a massive show of faith in the youngster to provide Liverpool with a threat from the bench. Under the German’s tutelage, Brewster could be the next Premier League star striker.

Liverpool fans, are you excited to watch Brewster make his competitive debut?
