While many of the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with their stunning performance last night, there has been one negative subject to discuss.
Indeed, the Reds’ stunning outing WITHOUT club captain Jordan Henderson has many of our local Kopites weighing up whether or not Jurgen Klopp even needs the England international in his squad anymore. Indeed, though clearly a midfielder of some use, the former Sunderland man doesn’t have a natural spot in Liverpool’s best team, it seems.
Though Klopp has insisted the 27-year-old was merely being rested for the game with Spartak Moscow, the manner in which Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum allowed the club’s wonderfully devastating attacking players to flourish hinted the tide had turned on Henderson.
Certainly a divisive figure, it’s a headache for Jurgen Klopp.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Liverpool fans on Twitter were discussing life without club captain Jordan Henderson last night.
No Henderson hahahahahaha sell him in January https://t.co/ibXASlHihZ

Hopefully this is the start of Henderson being slowly but surely completely removed and eventually sold

Henderson just isn't good enough to start in that midfield. Defence gets no protection from him and he slows down play. #lfc

I’d love to see the stats on Liverpool games played this season where Henderson didn’t start. Not a hater but he loves a pass backwards #LFC

When Keita arrives in the summer Henderson will struggle to get into the team. Shame really as personnaly i think hes played out of position which limits his influence. We should sign a DM and play him further forward #LFC

The one thing to come out of last night is Jordan Henderson’s position in the team. As much as I love him as a guy and a captain, as a footballer he’s a weak link in our team. I’m sentimental so I’d struggle to leave him out, Klopp is ruthless. He’ll do it for us. #LFC

Where does Henderson fit in to this team? Look far more deadly without him. #lfc
