Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are drinking their sorrows away after last night’s loss to rock bottom Swansea, as they seek for Jurgen Klopp to force even more movement this window.
Jurgen Klopp’s men had their 18 game winning streak snapped at the hands of Carlos Carvahal’s Swansea City side last night, in a 1-0 loss that saw all of the Reds’ hard work over the past couple of months become undone. Indeed, with their formidable attack being helpless to the cause last night, there’s one striker, in particular, that’s unlikely to put on the red shirt again. As according to reports from BBC Sport, Inter Milan have offered a significant but undisclosed loan fee for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
For a player that once lead the line in the Reds’ closest quest towards a Premier League title under Brendan Rodgers, all the brilliance has been undone as he looks to stagnate on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old has become heavily out of favour under Klopp, after only managing to make five starts for this Liverpool side all season.
With Inter Milan’s latest update it appears that the Serie A would also pay his wages, as discussions have also opened up towards a possible permanent deal at the end of the season.
Still, with the Reds happy to keep the player at Anfield for the rest of the season as a back-up, and a tireless period of fixtures still to come in European and domestic competitions, it looks as if the future of striker has been put firmly in his own hands.
Sturridge wouldn’t be missed at Anfield in a side that’s consistently scoring with ease, as one of the most potent attacks in the Premier League.
For a player that has aspirations of making England’s World Cup squad, a move away would be the only viable option if the striker is to ensure he has the best possible chance of a seat on the plane.
