Liverpool’s first full season under Jurgen Klopp ended successfully as the club sealed a spot in the Champions League, leading many in the Transfer Tavern to declare big things await their side.
The Reds face a challenge to strengthen their ranks this summer and Klopp will likely have to focus on a defensive line that has been under-par this season- and a new goalkeeper may be top of their summer wish-list.
Loris Karius has failed to impress since signing a year ago and Simon Mignolet’s inconsistencies are a problem for a side aspiring to be at the top, which has left many to believe a new top-class stopper is exactly what the Reds need.
Quite surprisingly, links have suggested veteran stopper Iker Casillas, now at Porto, is on Liverpool’s wish-list this summer and fans on social media have been split in their opinions on this potential transfer.
Our landlord believes Casillas would be good to learn from but doesn’t believe he’d be a decent first-team option, so he’s scratching his head at these rumours.
Liverpool have made an offer to bring Iker Casillas to the club on a free this summer (AS).

He might not be as good anymore but could bring some experience and also he's miles better than Manninger.

We need world class players not world class veterans. It's time we became strong contenders and not hopefuls.#YNWA

He'd be a great keeper for Migs and Karius to learn from, not sure if he'd be happy not being in the first team all the time though.
