Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are delighted after the weekend’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United, as the Reds look on course for achieving a top-four spot this season.
Indeed, Liverpool have been an unstoppable force of late, as Saturday’s win extended their unbeaten streak to six games in all competitions. Although, this fine run of form can be put down to the brilliance of summer signing Mohamed Salah, as the Reds continue to thrive off Chelsea’s mistake of selling the Egyptian back in 2016. But, it appears that the Merseyside club have made a mistake of their own, as according to reports in the Calcio Mercato, Liverpool are interested in signing former player Suso.
It’s understood that the Spaniard is wanted by his former club Liverpool although the Reds are not the only club interested in signing the 24-year-old. Indeed, Italian giants Inter Milan made a move for the attacking midfielder last summer, and he was also wanted by Juventus but the Rossoneri declined any offer they received.
Suso and current club AC Milan agreed on a new deal this past December, and it’s been revealed that the player has a € 40 million release clause included in his current agreement. Although, despite Liverpool setting their sights on the Spaniard, Suso is happy to stay at the Italian club right now as he is only thinking of having a good campaign at the San Siro.
The former Liverpool player has been one of the standout performers in the Serie A over the past year, as the Reds will now regret selling the player back in 2015. Although, with the opportunity to sign the attacking midfielder for a small price when considering today’s market, they may just have found Philippe Coutinho’s replacement at long last.
