Stoke fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping they can beat Liverpool to one of the best young fullbacks in the Championship.
According to The Sentinel, the Potters have joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in the race for Leeds United left back Charlie Taylor and have reportedly opened talks with him.
He would be brought into the Bet365 Stadium to provide competition for Erik Pieters in the left-back berth, after impressing for the Whites despite a poor campaign for the side on the whole.
The Yorkshire giants are understood to be trying to tie him down at Elland Road beyond 2017, although Massimo Cellino could be tempted to sell him by a big bid.
While Garry Monk will surely harbour aspirations of mounting a serious promotion push, the fact he is entering the final year of his deal makes it a pivotal summer in the career of the 22-year old
Taylor may favour a move to Stoke as he may see more opportunity to make the first-team compared to if he was Liverpool.
