‘Stop lying’ – Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Klopp’s Everton comments

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their eccentric German gaffer, Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Merseyside derby tomorrow at Goodison Park. Klopp is not underestimating The Toffees and singled out Cenk Tosun, Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott as good players in a good team.

The comments from Klopp have drawn some laughter from the Reds propping our bar up though, as they can’t help but disagree with their manager on the ability of their city rivals. Everton haven’t beaten Liverpool since October 2010 and the Liverpool fans will be keen to remind their bluenose rivals of that fact as the Toffees aim to end their 16 game drought against Liverpool tomorrow.

Everton have a very good chance of beating Liverpool tomorrow as the Reds will have one eye on their Champions League second leg against Manchester on Tuesday. The club are currently in the middles of an injury crisis as Mo Salah, Adam Lallana, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez are all set to miss the derby tomorrow and for the City clash on Tuesday, Jordan Henderson is suspended. Whilst the club is hardly down to their bare-bones, a number of fringe players could be set to feature at Goodison Park as Klopp will be focussing on the bigger picture against Pep Guardiola’s City.
