Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off with Crystal Palace and will be delighted with the news that one of their players has made about his current condition.
Adam Lallana has made the claim that he is now injury free and is ready to fight for his place in Jurgen Klopp’s side. The midfielder has had a torrid time with injuries, having suffered a serious thigh injury last summer and has seen him make just a handful of starts for the Reds across all competitions.
The 26-year-old suffered a minor setback last month and has admitted he still lacks the amount of match sharpness but feels he is ready to be included in the side for their busy run-up towards the end of the season.
“It’s been a difficult challenge for me this year and I’ve had a long layoff but I’m back at the business end of the season,” he told Sky Sports.
“I’ve got to look at the positives – we’ve got a World Cup coming up, some really important games in the league and Champions League.
“If you’re going to be back fit for one part of the season it’s the back end, the business part.
“Injuries happen but I feel physically and mentally as fresh as anyone. I’m raring to go.”
With Philippe Coutinho having departed and the English national side lacking any real creativity, the former Southampton man will surely have a big say on how things develop for both club and country over the next few months and our local Kopites are delighted to see him back.
The Anfield locals in the Tavern will be keen to see one of their main men back on the field and hopeful he does not suffer a further setback, especially with the number of crucial games coming up, including the Champions League last-16 tie with Manchester City.
