Talking Tactics: Liverpool XI vs Leicester City

Liverpool have looked dangerous so far this season as they continue to push towards the Premier League title.

The Reds have been one of the standout performers in the Premier League so far this season, with plenty of other sides becoming threatened by the pure dominance that Liverpool have displayed. But, they won’t get too carried away as they face another difficult test later on today.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City later on today. The Foxes have looked impressive so far this season under Claude Puel, and they’ll be desperate to make a big statement by causing an upset against the Reds.

So, having taken Klopp’s previous selections into consideration, we’ve come up with a team that we think the German could line up with against Leicester City.

Have a look below to see the entire potential team in FULL…

LIVERPOOL’S POTENTIAL TEAM VS LEICESTER CITY

We’ve gone with a 4-3-3 formation, as that is the formation that Klopp has enjoyed a lot of success from during his time as Liverpool boss. This allows the deadly front three to attack the opposition’s defence at all times, while the midfield three will work hard to keep possession and snuff out any oncoming attacks.

Alisson Becker pulled off a trick last time out that sent supporters into an absolute frenzy, so they’ll be desperate to see more of where that came from later on today.

In defence, Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez will be looking to keep things tight after securing yet another clean sheet last time out. Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will line up on either flank, looking to continue the fine start they’ve made to the campaign.

Jurgen Klopp will insert Naby Keita straight into the lineup having witnessed his brilliance so far this season, with the hard-working James Milner and the energetic Georginio Wijnaldum alongside him.

Lastly, Liverpool will line up with their usual potent attack that includes Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. Indeed, all three men have made a terrific start to the current campaign as they continue to punish the opposition in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
