Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the same performance from their players against Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday as they did against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp would have been hoping to make changes ahead of the game, however, according to reports, Emre Can will not be available and he may have in fact played his last game for the Anfield outfit.
The Mirror is claiming the Germany international’s back injury is more serious than first thought and he could be out for the rest of the season, with fears that he may even have to miss the World Cup as he looks to recover. As you can imagine, our resident Reds are gutted, especially with their Champions League second leg showdown against Man City just around the corner.
Klopp had hoped the midfielder would have been available for both upcoming fixtures, having been close to a return, however, it now appears that the 24-year-old may not wear the red of Liverpool again.
Locals in the Tavern will be frustrated that Can, who is out of contract in the summer, has been ruled out, as they would have hoped he would be able to replace Jordan Henderson in the Champions League due to suspension, whilst a number of punters are annoyed he has not committed his future to the club.
