With Liverpool breaking the world record on a transfer fee for a goalkeeper, it seems highly likely Simon Mignolet will be on his way.

Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet has been pushed even further down the pecking order after the arrival of Alisson for £66.8m. For that kind of money, far and away the most ever spent on a goalkeeper, Alisson will certainly be first choice at Anfield and the aforementioned Belgian has been linked with a move to Turkey.

Last season, Simon Mignolet was battling for the number one spot with Loris Karius. Unfortunately for the Belgian, he seemingly lost the battle and Klopp settled on the German Karius as his number one. This culminated in the dire performance of Loris Karius in the Champions League final.

Considering just two seasons ago Simon Mignolet was first choice, he cannot be happy with being relegated to being third choice keeper at Anfield.

In the past few weeks we have seen some interesting third choice stoppers signed. Manchester United have brought in Lee Grant from Stoke, whereas Chelsea have brought in 38-year-old Robert Green.

With that in mind, here are three options Liverpool should consider if Mignolet does depart Anfield...

Freddie Woodman is a fine young English goalkeeper.

Signing a player like Woodman as a back-up, would be a move against the tide of signing past-its like Lee Grant and Rob Green as third choice stoppers.

The Newcastle United stopper has represented England throughout the youth levels. Sitting as third-choice behind Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow at the Magpies, a move to be third choice at Anfield may well tempt the young Woodman due to their superior training facilities.

At just 21-years-old, Woodman could one day make the Anfield number one spot his own.

Daniele Padelli is a classic 'third choice' option.

However, should he be called upon, the Italian would have the necessary quality to look solid between the sticks. The 32-year-old is currently a back-up at Inter Milan, but only a few seasons ago he was the number one with Torino.

He has shown at Inter he is happy to play second fiddle, so this could be a solid and cost effective option for Liverpool.

Valued at £720,000 by Tranfermarkt, his contract expires in 2019.

The most ambitious option would be to tempt England international Jack Butland to Anfield. The stopper is currently with Championship Stoke City, but surely wants to play for a Premier League outfit.

Butland would not come to Anfield as a classic number three. Arguably, he would overtake Karius to be the second choice keeper. To lure a keeper the quality of Butland to the club, the Anfield outfit would likely have to promise him at least guaranteed cup football.

The one reason Liverpool may not bring in Butland is they don't want to splash out on another keeper, but he would show the Anfield side have fantastic depth. In the even of an injury to Alisson, Liverpool fans would not need to worry with a stopper as good as Butland at the club.
