Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are looking for huge improvements from their side, with recent results suggesting they may need to dip back into the transfer market.
Jurgen Klopp’s side gave fans a weekend to forget after crashing out of the FA Cup fourth-round in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion, in a match that made the headlines for its controversial use of the VAR system. But not even the VAR could save them, as a James Rodriguez double and some help from the Liverpool defence saw Anfield silenced. And, things got even worse for the Reds, as their quest to add a rising star to their youth system was scuppered. As according to reports in the Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet Morgan Gibbs-White snubbed a move to Liverpool as he signed a new contract at Molineux.
Morgan Gibbs-White received one of the best birthday offers that any teenager could wish for, as his 18th birthday was greeted with interest from Liverpool. Which to the disliking of the Englishman, didn’t match up to the standards of a new and improved contract with Wolves.
The 18-year-old played an influential part in England’s World Cup triumph in India for the U17 side, that included some quite spectacular displays with two goals that caught the eye of many high calibre teams. In a year that’s seen him make his debut in the Black Country both in cup and league competitions, the highly-rated midfielder managed to attract the attention of a number of Premier League giants. But, having opted for a future deal with his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers, the future of the youngster will remain in the Midlands for the foreseeable future.
Morgan Gibbs-White is one of the rising stars in English football who’s now managed to earn a place in current club Wolves’ promotion push, as he looks to be performing well above what his age suggests after some very established performances. A player for the future that will no doubt attract the interest of Premier League giants for years to come, although in his current state he could be a valuable asset to his current club with lots to improvements to be had.
