The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are once again lamenting their lack of defensive discipline, following the 3-3 draw away at Watford to kick off their Premier League campaign.
Indeed, our resident Reds can’t quite believe how bad their side remain at defending set-pieces, though that isn’t even their biggest concern right now.
With Philippe Coutinho strongly touted as a Barcelona target, this summer threatens to go to from annoying to awful at Anfield. Thought to have handed in a transfer request, Guillem Balague has provided an update into the ongoing saga.
Taking to Twitter, the La Liga expert revealed the 25-year-old will keep trying ‘whatever it takes’ to force through a move to the Camp Nou, despite his current employers reportedly snubbing two offers for him.
The Blaugrana are said to be eyeing him up as a Neymar replacement, though Balague does provide a relatively positive update for our local Kopites.

Despite Coutinho’s reported ambition to leave for Spain, Liverpool are thought to be adamant they won’t sell and do not want meetings with the La Liga giants to discuss at all.
Liverpool really, really, really can’t sell Coutinho now. There’s simply not enough time left to replace.
Sell him next year perhaps, though allowing him to depart now would absolutely wreck their season.
