Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern really are getting excited about facing Everton tomorrow in the only way a derby game can get you.
The Merseyside Derby is one of the oldest and most famous fixtures in English football and this weekend’s edition looks set to have plenty riding on it.
Indeed, whilst local pride is at stake, as always, both teams are also going for European football this year.
Liverpool are currently in the top four whilst Everton could gate-crash that party with a win at Anfield once the final whistle blows tomorrow afternoon.
Both teams, then, know how important this game is and both also have significant injury issues to contend with ahead of it.
Indeed, the Reds are without the likes of Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana with the former really set to be missed thanks to this impressive stat – via Squawka on Twitter:
Most Premier League passes per game 2016/17:
J. Henderson (71.38)
A. Herrera (64.50)
P. Pogba (62.68)

The England man has been key this season, then, and the Reds will surely want him back as soon as possible.
