The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are excited about what the summer will bring. Indeed, the punters propping up our bar are still hugely disappointed with the manner in which they lost the Champions League final, though the signing of Fabinho has certainly delighted our resident Reds.
Now, they want more. With Jurgen Klopp creating one of the best Anfield sides in years, it’s time for the German to supplement that with some astute additions over the course of the summer window. Having said that, our local Liverpudlians are already locked in debate as to who they should be.
One name who has come up fairly often is that of Portugal striker, Andre Silva. The AC Milan striker has struggled to convince at the San Siro since moving from Porto last summer, though remains a hugely gifted young marksman with his career whole career in front of him.
Outside of the wonderfully devastating attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, Liverpool lack options to change the game and a move for the £22.5m-rated (as per Transfermarkt) forward would certainly give them a different edge. At just 22 years of age, Silva could be quite the coup, especially as he’s been touted with an exit over in Italy.
He’ll be in action this weekend as the European champions take on World Cup dark horses Belgium in Brussels, with Portugal as underdogs with 888sport, and those on Merseyside certainly should be taking a look.
