While there has been so much to moan about on the defensive front for the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern of late, our resident Reds finally had something to be excited about last night.
Indeed, our local Kopites were delighted to see Joe Gomez truly impress upon his full England debut last night as Neymar’s Brazil visited Wembley, only to be shut out by the 20-year-old and company. Much like Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the game before him, Gomez delivered a classy performance in the biggest game of his career thus far.
The former Charlton Atheltic youngster hasn’t always been a regular starter under Jurgen Klopp amid Liverpool’s seemingly constant defensive mishaps, though certainly looked the part last night for the Three Lions, leading our local Liverpudlians to demand his inclusion as a regular at club level.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to Joe Gomez’s performance for England last night.
Gomez was a great signing wasn’t he? Well in Brendan Rodgers.
