The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s tweet wishing Marko Grujic a happy birthday. The 22-year-old Serbian is currently on-loan at promotion-chasing Cardiff City in the Championship and has a big future ahead of him at Liverpool if he can fulfil his potential.

Marko Grujic is far from a household name in Liverpool. The Serbian joined Liverpool in January 2016 and was loaned straight back to the club Liverpool signed him from, Red Star Belgrade until the end of the 2015/16 season. After spending a whole season at Liverpool last year making eight appearances for the senior squad, the versatile midfielder has been loaned out again, swapping Anfield for the Principality Stadium in the recent January transfer window.
Liverpool fans will be hoping the Serb can make a name for himself next season when he returns from his loan with Cardiff. The dynamic midfielder could be given a call-up to the senior squad next season at Emre Can is set to leave on a free transfer. In the short-term, Grujic will be looking forward to this summer as he looks likely to be apart of Serbia’s World Cup squad going to Russia. The on-loan Red regained his place in the senior squad recently, making appearances in his countries two recent friendlies.
