However, none of the stories churning the proverbial transfer rumour mill have had them smiling as much as this one – Borussia Dortmund ace Mats Hummels telling German publication Bild he could well leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer.

Due to his standing as one of the best defenders on the continent, the 27-year old has been linked with a raft of top clubs around Europe and has previous in being touted as potential candidate for clubs in the North West.
A move to Manchester United was seemingly on the cards for a while, though clearly that failed to ever materialise.
Having worked with current Anfield chief Jurgen Klopp to great success during their time together in Dortmund, he’s since been linked with a blockbuster switch to the Merseyside giants.
Now, he has revealed that he faces a major decision regarding his future this summer and opened the door to a possibility of a move away.
‘I don’t necessarily want to [leave], but I have to make a big decision. I have been back and forth a lot’, revealed the BVB stalwart.
‘Age gives you a feeling that you don’t have forever to win. I realise in every year I don’t win a title, I’m closer to retiring.’
Certainly, there would be room for a defender of such majestic ability at Anfield. Despite some thrilling attacking play under the stewardship of their charismatic coach, they have been constantly undermined by some lax defensive work.
Reds fans will get another chance to view him at close quarters this week when the Bundesliga side travel to Merseyside in the second leg of their quarter-final clash.
