The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in Spanish outlet Sport, that legendary Spanish ‘keeper, Iker Casillas could be on his way to Anfield on a free transfer when his current contract at Portuguese side, Porto runs out.
Not too sure we’d be on board with this one https://t.co/nVem3lxxlN

Casillas is a serial winner in every right. The iconic 36-year-old has a trophy cabinet bigger than your average house, he’s won the World Cup, two European Championships, three Champions Leagues, five Spanish league titles, two Spanish cups, four Spanish cups and the Club World Cup. The wealth of knowledge and experience that the Spaniard would bring to any team should be valued and if he was to make the move from the Estadio do Dragao to Anfield, his experience would no doubt rub off on young Loris Karius.
Liverpool have had a number of problems between the sticks as neither Karius nor Simon Mignolet have been able to convince the Reds that they deserve to be starting at Anfield. The last time a ‘keeper looked deserving of his place on the red half of Merseyside was Pepe Reina and now the fans will be hoping a different Spaniard can come in and help to change the goalkeeping climate. Whilst none of the fans are expecting Casillas to become the number one under Jurgen Klopp, they’re expecting him to help the young Karius fulfil his high ceiling of potential.

Would it be such a bad thing? He would be a fantastic mentor for Karius

Sounds like an expensive way to get a goalkeeping coach.

Bit like having Alex Manninger a few years back, very experienced but unlikely to get a start.

It seems LFC, have forgotten that the goal keeper is important in a football game

Yes! We have 2 promising young keepers, give them a champions league, la liga and World Cup winning keeper to learn from can only be a good thing.

Y'all saying we already have Ward and all that, come on man he's not gonna be our Number 1
Bit like a mentor role and might get a few cup games
He's a champion and will give that winning mentality to our team.We lack it since the day Stevie left
