Liverpool are keen to get plenty of business done this summer as they look to finally take a Premier League title back to Anfield.
The club have already signed Fabinho and Naby Keita to an almost all-star team. The Reds still need to improve their defence and desperately need to replace the error-prone Loris Karius. While those are the two obvious areas the club needs to improve on, going forward Klopp needs to add some vital depth to back up his devastating front three.
With a trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane, Liverpool have a frontline that score goals against any side. If one of those three were to get injured over a long Premier League and European campaign, Liverpool don’t really have anyone to step in and fill there shoes – especially on the wing. Lazar Markovic has never shown any quality for the club, and realistically, has been a flop.
According to the Guardian, Liverpool are confident of signing Stoke City winger, Xerdan Shaqiri. Having been relegated last season with Stoke City, it seems the Swiss international will likely leave this summer.
At times an enigmatic player, Shaqiri had a superb World Cup for Switzerland and apparently has a release clause of £13 million.
Unlike Shaqiri, Markovic has never shown any true quality. Due to his fairly poor performances for Liverpool, he has spent loan spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City, and Anderlecht. At none of those clubs did he ever live up to his £22.5 million transfer fee.
Do you agree Liverpool fans?
