Alberto Moreno’s future at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end this summer and it seems one of Europe’s biggest clubs are interested in signing him.
According to a report by Spanish media outlet Sport, Barcelona are keen on adding the left-back as cover for Jordi Alba.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour at Liverpool and with his contract set to expire in the summer, it appears that his time in the Premier League is coming to an end.
Valued at £8.1million by Transfermarkt, Moreno has found it difficult to live up to expectations at Anfield and has struggled to make an impact.
Over the past couple of seasons, the Spaniard has been out of the side with Andy Robertson becoming their first choice left-back as he continues to impress in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Moreno looks set to leave Liverpool in the summer, with the fact that he is yet to agree to a new deal and has just a few months left on his present contract to run.
However, a move to Barcelona does appear to be a little bit of a strange one and a switch may not make too much sense for the Spaniard.
If the 26-year-old wants to get back to playing regular first-team football, it would be unlikely that he will receive that at the Camp Nou with Alba still playing at a high standard.
