Liverpool’s international defender target suggests transfer is possible this summer

MustafiLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see an established defender remains available in the transfer market, after he hinted he could move away from his current club.

German outlet SID quote Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi as not ruling out an exit from his current side, following a disappointing season for the Spanish giants as they are set to finish outside the European places.

“I don’t know. It might well be that a transfer will become an issue. But as long as I still develop I don’t have to make a switch. I’ve played in in England, in Italy, in Spain and in Germany, and those are the leagues I would like to stay in,”

“Principally I think: If you have always acted fair as a player, if you have performed well and caused no problems, it should not be a problem to say ‘I want to leave and ask for a transfer.'”

The same report suggests Liverpool hold an interest in the former Everton man, although they could face competition from Borussia Dortmund, who see the World Cup winner as a decent replacement for want-away defender Mats Hummels.
