Liverpool are set to hand one of their most promising academy players his first professional contract at the club.
According to a report by The Liverpool Echo, Paul Glatzel appears to have done enough to earn himself a deal with the Anfield outfit and is expected to sign a new deal next week.
Dubbed a wonderkid, the forward turns 18 on Wednesday and the Premier League outfit will hand him a contract to reward him for the progress he has made over the course of this season.
Glatzel, who currently captains the Under-18s, netted his 22nd goal of the season last week and has established a prolific partnership with Bobby Duncan.
He has already featured for the Under-23s and has been so impressive that he has trained with Jurgen Klopp and the first-team squad as well.
Glatzel has been performing really well in the academy side this season and it will be no surprise that Liverpool will look to tie him down as quickly as possible.
The teenager has a really bright future ahead of him, as do the Anfield outfit, should he and Duncan hit the heights that many believe they can in the future.
Glatzel has had a number of injury concerns over the years, however, he appears to have managed to overcome those and will be looking to kick on as a professional Liverpool player.
