The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few players to come through the doors at Anfield over the next few days…
After all, despite a decent start to the season, Liverpool have gone off the rails over the last few weeks – with a Premier League title challenge now looking unlikely.
Jurgen Klopp, though, is seemingly refusing to panic – and whilst reports over the weekend linked Liverpool with a couple of transfers before the end of the month, most notably that of Leandro Paredes, it would appear as though the Reds will remain quiet over the next few days.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are not interested in Paredes – and there are currently no plans in place for the Reds to sign any players between now and the end of the month.
A defensive midfielder by trade, Paredes is currently playing for AS Roma, and has made a total of 6 starts so far this season – scoring 1 goal.
Whilst the Liverpool fans in the Tavern were hoping for a few new signings, they are pleased that Jurgen Klopp is refusing to panic. After all, the German’s side was impressing earlier in the season – and many feel that with the return of Sadio Mane, Liverpool will once again return to winning ways.
Our landlord thinks that a lot is riding on Liverpool’s impending clash with Chelsea. If the Reds manage to pick up a victory against the Premier League leaders, he thinks that Klopp could find himself back amongst the title picture in no time.
