Swansea fans here in the Tavern are discussing whether or not it would be a good move on the club’s behalf to make on-loan Leroy Fer a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Fer joined the Swans on loan from Championship club QPR in January but it is now being reported by the South Wales Evening Post that he could move to the Liberty Stadium on a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign.
The Dutchman hasn’t particularly been a lucky charm for clubs in recent times having been relegated from the Premier League in the last two seasons with Norwich and QPR.
A third relegation could put an end to any hopes he might join permanently but the Swans’ form has picked up of late and they have now built up a little cushion for themselves above the bottom three.
Swans’ fans are loyal to their players and Fer is one of those that has started their last two league games, which they have won against Arsenal and Norwich, and if the current form can be maintained then it will certainly be a deal that will go down well with their faithful.
He is still only aged 26 so could still have many years ahead of him at the top level and Swans fans will hope that they see the best of the talented Dutchman, starting in the Premier League next season.
