Loanee returns to Liverpool after hilarious incident

Liverpool v Manchester City - Premier LeagueLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had too much to smile about recently but this raised a smirk from our most grumpy regulars.

Lawrence Vigouroux, a name not many of us were familiar with, was sent on-loan to Swindon Town after signing for the Reds from Tottenham Hotspur last year.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has since snatched the headlines in The Daily Mail but for all the wrong reasons, after he returned to Merseyside prematurely after a hilarious incident.

Vigouroux was doing well and earning first-team experience at the League One club, before turning up late to training; which earned him a £150 fine.

Senior players helped out the Chilean youngster by reducing the fine to £50- but Vigouroux was seemingly still unhappy at his treatment, as it’s stated he paid the amount in PENNIES.

Although quite hilarious, Swindon gaffer Mark Cooper was less than impressed and it’s a decision we understand- as we’re send our punter walking if they tried to buy a pint with coppers.

Liverpool fans, was Vigouroux given his just desserts or should Swindon have cut him some slack? Let us know in the comments below!
