Long-term Red Devils target dampens Manchester United’s hopes

Arturo Vidal The Express are the talk of the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that one of the hottest targets in Europe has played down talk of a summer move to Manchester United.

The player in question is Juventus star Arturo Vidal, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and also Barcelona in recent weeks, not to mention the persistent links with a move to Old Trafford.

After being asked about his future, the Chilean star admitted that whilst the links to various clubs are flattering, he has no intention of leaving Juventus for the foreseeable future.

The former Bayer Leverkusen schemer noted: “I live with my feet on the ground, I try not to think too much about the rumours, otherwise I would go mad. I think it is better to focus on training and getting ready for games at my best.

“Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United? It is nice to hear my name linked to Madrid, Barca or to Manchester United, but I think only about training, the rest we shall see about.”

He also spoke about claims that international team-mate Alexis Sanchez tried to convince him to join Barcelona, and noted that a transfer was not on the cards – just quite yet.

Of course, as our punters note, given the choice between Real Madrid and Barcelona – and then Manchester United in their current form, we certainly know which clubs we would be showing more interest in!

Is it incredibly unrealistic to think that a world class star such as Vidal would swap Juventus for Manchester United in their current state? Let us know your thoughts below.
