With the news that Everton winger Theo Walcott is facing a race against time to be fit for West Ham’s visit to Goodison Park, manager Marco Silva may need to look at his other options.
The former Arsenal man is carrying a rib injury that he sustained in the club’s draw against Huddersfield. With Richarlison currently serving a ban, Silva may need to look to 20-year-old Ademola Lookman to replace Walcott.
The youngster hasn’t had a lot of game time this season, and spent most of last year on loan at RB Leipzig, but looks the best candidate to replace the 29-year-old.
We asked you whether you wanted to see Lookman starting this weekend and these were the results:
Interestingly, 51% of you want to see Lookman start ahead of Walcott no matter what, while only 41% would want him only if Walcott is not completely fit.
These are stats which show that there could be a power shift at Goodison Park, with the youngster moving ahead of the England star in the fan’s eyes.
