The Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to prepare for life after Philippe Coutinho at Anfield.
Although nothing is yet to be officially confirmed regarding Coutinho’s future at Liverpool, there seems to be no doubt that he will be leaving for Barcelona either in January or at the end of the season. With that being said, Jurgen Klopp should be working in conjunction with FSG to identify a replacement for their Brazilian wizard in the near future.
The Liverpool fans on Twitter have been discussing the merits of plenty of potential replacements from across Europe in recent days, based on both current speculation and their own personal views.
And one player who continues to crop up on social media as a primary target for consideration is AS Monaco’s attacking-midfielder Thomas Lemar.
Lemar caught the attention of football fans across Europe with his impressive displays for Monaco during their sensational Champions League run, which saw them defeat Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund on their way to the semi-finals of the competition last season.
Although Lemar’s record of 2 goals and 4 assists from 18 fixtures this season is not particularly ground-breaking, the Liverpool supporters remain hopeful that Klopp can lure him to Anfield this month.
At just 22-years-of-age, Lemar has already demonstrated the ability to perform on Europe’s biggest stage, so it is no wonder the Reds faithful are so excited about the prospect of seeing him in a Liverpool shirt in the near future.
Here’s what the Liverpool supporters have had to say about Lemar…
The excitement of potentially seeing Thomas Lemar play for Liverpool is greater than the disappointment of seeing Philippe Coutinho leave us to me.

as I tweeted yesterday. Bring in Lemar, Sanchez and Marez and I'm happy. #LFC

If we sell Coutinho and sign Lemar this month, that’s fine with me. Need this saga over.

Each day I want Lemar at this club that bit more, it’s getting to me now.
He’s originally a winger, but so was Coutinho. He’s 3 years younger and under Klopps supervison and help he could turn into a great player for us.
