Imagine the scenes if Liverpool manage to secure silverware in the Premier League and the Champions League this season. Of course, it would be one of the most memorable seasons in the history of Liverpool Football club if it was to happen, and it's safe to say it could become reality.

The Reds have firmly established themselves as one of Europe's elite and they have the perfect opportunity to lift their first ever Premier League title this season, which would be sure to delight supporters.

However, another thing that could also create plenty of excitement is a move for a playmaker this summer, as Philippe Coutinho's absence has been felt at times.

According to II Mattino (via Calciomercato), Liverpool are strongly interested in Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne but Premier League rivals Manchester City are also in the race for the Italian.

It's safe to say that FSG could send fans into meltdown by landing Insigne as he's arguably one of Europe's best attackers having produced 13 goals and seven assists. Indeed, versatility is one of the most attractive things about the Italy international as he can operate centrally as a No.10 or out wide as a winger.

And, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri described him as having the "class" to play closer to the goal after naming his as Italy's best footballer, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Forza Italian Football).

A playmaker is exactly what the Reds have needed at times in the current campaign, especially with Adam Lallana struggling to make any kind of impact, as the front three have been short on service at times.

Reds fans will definitely agree that the Napoli man has been a level above Coutinho this season, as the Brazilian has suffered a dip in form since moving to Spain, so Anfield could finally have a new hero.

According to Rai Sport (via TEAMtalk), Jurgen Klopp wanted the Italy man to fill the Reds' No.10 void back in October of last year, so they should go all out in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Insigne is such a dangerous attacker to have at your disposal as his lightning quick pace, incredible dribbling, creativity and finishing ability makes him almost impossible to defend against. He's exactly the kind of world-class attacker that could take the Reds to the next level.
