Loris Karius set to return to Liverpool

Liverpool fans will be nervously anticipating their Champions League second leg with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night as they look to try and go one further in the competition.

One man that did not have the best of times, to put it mildly, in the final was Loris Karius and it appears things really have not improved for him over the subsequent months following on from his disastrous performances.

What’s the News?

Liverpool fans will know that he went to Besiktas on loan this summer with the possibility of a two-year stay in Istanbul. However, it would seem he could be about to make a return to Anfield a little sooner than anyone had expected, or even possibly hoped.

According to a report by Aksam, who have covered claims from Turkish media outlet Star, the Super Lig club are prepared to send him back to the Premier League outfit this season after a number of less than impressive performances.

The Verdict:

Karius would have been looking for a fresh start when he headed out to Turkey, however, things really have not gone as he would have planned.

The German has been the first choice for Besiktas this season but it is claimed that many at the club are not impressed with his attitude or the displays he has produced for the team in his first season.

And, should he be told to go back to Liverpool once their final nine league games are completed, it is unlikely the 25-year-old’s situation will improve.

Alisson and Simon Mignolet are already cemented as Jurgen Klopp’s number one and two and it does not look as though either of those will see their places in the team change at any point, seemingly making his future at Anfield all the more non-existent.

If the news is to be believed, Karius must now look to use the final games he has left in Turkey to make himself an attractive option for other clubs to potentially take a risk on him next season.

Liverpool fans, what do you make of the news that Karius could be returning to Anfield a little earlier than expected? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
