“Lost twice to the worst team in the division” – Hull fans fume as they are left in trouble

The Hull fans in the Transfer Tavern are in shock at what has just happened.

Today, they hosted already-relegated, bottom of the league Sunderland at home in what seemed to be a regulation win in their battle for survival.

Three points would have lifted Hull to a comfortable position of five ahead of Swansea before their tricky evening kick-off against Everton.

However, Hull could not manage to pick up any points.

Marco Silva’s unbeaten run at the KCOM Stadium came to an end in a spectacularly disastrous fashion as the Tigers lost 2-0 at home to goal-shy Sunderland.

Billy Jones headed in the opener and Jermain Defoe scrambled home the second towards the end as a spirited second half Sunderland display left Hull in deep trouble.

If Swansea win this evening, Hull will be in the relegation zone with two games left to play.

Hull fans were understandably frustrated at the final whistle and here are some of the best tweets.
