The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s tweet about Danish centre-back, Andreas Christensen. The 21-year-old defender has been one of Chelsea’s top performers this season and the fans have recognised that as they’ve heaped praise on the youngster as he stars in Chelsea’ most recent #DriveForMore video, detailing different Chelsea path to the first team.

Christensen has been one of the most consistent performers in Chelsea’s side this campaign and despite one mistake against Barcelona in the Champions League, it’s hard to pinpoint another specific moment where the Dane has cost his team. Christensen left his family and friends in Denmark at the age of 15 to join Chelsea and after two years of development, he left for Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year loan.
The 21-year-old’s time in Germany proved to be the making of him. Christensen excelled at ‘Gladbach as he continued his incredible development into one of football’s greatest young talents. Now back at Chelsea and competing against Gary Cahill, David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger for a first team spot, the classy defender is making life in the Premier League look like a breeze as he continues to impress those watching him around Europe. Chelsea will have a job on their hands holding on to the 21-year-old but whether he stays or leaves Stamford Bridge, Christensen is destined for the very top.
