‘Love this moment’, ‘King of the Kop’ – Liverpool fans reminisce wonder-strikes following club’s Twitter post

The resident Kopites in the Transfer Tavern are dearly hoping their club will keep hold of Philippe Coutinho beyond the upcoming January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp’s side returned to winning ways last weekend with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Bournemouth at The Vitality Stadium. Prior to the weekend, Liverpool had slipped out of the top-four after back-to-back draws at Anfield against Everton and West Brom, but their victory on the South-Coast enabled them to climb back into fourth place.

Philippe Coutinho began the rout for The Reds on Sunday afternoon by rounding off a tantalising run at the heart of Bournemouth’s defence with a driven finish into the bottom left-corner.

The Brazilian magician’s strike was his 52nd goal in Liverpool red since joining from Inter Milan in 2013.

Liverpool’s official website have since produced a shortlist containing 10 of Coutinho’s most outstanding strikes for the club, and encouraged the supporters to vote for their favourite goal via their Twitter page.

A wide variety of suggestions for Coutinho’s greatest strike have been put forward by supporters in response to the tweet, but the majority seem to identify an audacious chip over David De Gea at Old Trafford as his stand-out finish.

And with doubts over Coutinho’s future still lingering at the club, it is no surprise to see a handful of supporters calling for him to stay at Anfield in response to the tweet.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Coutinho’s goals for the club….
