Lucas Moura attracting interest from Spanish outfit

A Tottenham Hotspur man has attracted interest from La Liga, however, it would appear doubtful that he will be allowed to leave north London this summer.

According to a report in El Desmarque, Real Betis are thought to be interested in Lucas Moura, with Sports vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer admitting he was a player they would like.

“They are two great footballers and if we have possibilities we would like to have them,” he told El Desmarque about Moura and Joao Mario.

“But we have to be realistic and know what we can do. We try to distribute the economic potential well in order to try to reinforce and improve the squad. We have replaced players that last year performed very well and we think we have improved.”

However, it remains to be seen if Spurs will allow Moura to leave the club. The former Paris Saint-Germain man arrived in north London in January and made a handful of appearances for the White Hart Lane outfit.

The Verdict:

Mauricio Pochettino will have been impressed with the Brazil international’s form during their pre-season campaign.

The 26-year-old will unlikely be allowed to leave Tottenham this summer as the club failed to bring in a replacement and the Argentine will need everyone he has for the long season ahead.

Son Heung-min is to leave Spurs in the imminent future as he prepares for the Asian Cup with South Korea, so Pochettino will want Moura to give him a possible option.
