Arsenal will be sweating on the fitness of one of their midfielders as they look to prepare for their match against Everton on Sunday.
The Gunners are coming off the back of a solid victory in the Europa League against Vorskla and Unai Emery will be looking for his side to continue their fine form when the Toffees make a visit to the Emirates Stadium.
However, the Spaniard could be without Lucas Torreira for the game as he picked up a knock against the Ukrainian outfit in Thursday’s match.
Ben Dinnery appeared to confirm the news that the Uruguay international could be a doubt for the game.
Torreira to be assessed after picking up a knock in the UEL win over Vorskla. "He got two hits on his leg. I hope tomorrow and Saturday he is good to be OK for Sunday." #AFC
The freelance injury data analyst revealed that Torreira would need to be assessed ahead of the Premier League clash, although Emery appears hopeful that his summer signing will be ready in time.
Arsenal will be hoping Torreira will recover from the couple of knocks he received during their clash against Vorskla in time to face Everton.
The Uruguayan has featured for the Gunners in every single league game, albeit from the substitutes bench in each match, however, Emery could have looked to have started him for the encounter at the Emirates on Sunday.
The 22-year-old is likely to feature more and more for Arsenal in the coming weeks, should he remain fit and available, as Arsenal’s season starts to get a whole lot busier.
