The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have gone quiet ever since fierce rivals Manchester United snatched Everton striker Romelu Lukaku from under their noses at the last minute.
The former Blues striker looked all but on his way back to Stamford Bridge until Jose Mourinho swooped at the last hour to land a deal for the Belgian, leaving Antonio Conte and the powers that be in west London scrapping for an alternative.
With that in mind, Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that the Premier League champions, who are in need of some big additions this summer with Champions League football back on the calendar in the new season, are considering a move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.
The former Fulham man stunned the Scottish Premier League last season and enjoyed an outstanding debut season for the Celts, bagging 32 goals in all competitions.
His scintillating form has turned plenty of heads in the Premier League and across the continent, with West Ham and Marseille also interested in the £40m-rated striker, according to Solhekol.
Whether or not the 20-year-old could offer an alternative to Lukaku is the subject of much debate here in the Tavern, however, everyone is in agreement that he would be a fantastic addition to the squad nonetheless.
