Tottenham travelled to Newcastle yesterday with only one thing on their minds, getting off to a flier and picking up three points. Everything went to plan in the end and whilst they might not have deserved the win, goals from Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli gave them a 2-1. In the dying minutes of the game, Eric Dier was replaced by young Luke Amos for his debut and the fans loved it.

Young Luke Amos had a great pre-season for Tottenham out in America and overall the youngster has earned himself a place in the squad for this season after his heroics. As a defensive midfielder, there’s no doubt that the 21-year-old will be getting more opportunities this season and he won’t mind whether they come in the Premier League, Champions League or domestic cups.
The club, as has been very well documented, failed to make a single signing this summer and with a lack of real depth in central midfield, Amos will likely be key to the club’s success if they are to have any this season. He’s not the only player in the squad to come through the club’s academy, though, with Harry Kane, Kyle Walker-Peters and Harry Winks all being Tottenham born and bred.

Really pleased to see @Luke_Amos1 getting his chance. Saw him at Stevenage last season and he showed a maturity beyond his years. A bright prospect, definitely one to watch for the future. Good luck Luke.
