Major Arsenal boost as Premier League winner wants Emirates move – Report

Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to the summer transfer window, as they’ll want to see a number of fresh faces brought into the side.

Indeed, it looks as if the Gunners will miss out on Champions League football once again in the current campaign, as they were sent crashing out of the Europa League after a 2-1 aggregate defeat. Although, it looks as if things are on the up, as according to the Express, Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez favours a move to Arsenal.

The Algerian has withdrawn the transfer request he put in when the club put an £80m price tag on his head after rejecting a £50m-plus offer from Manchester City. But, it’s understood that he still wants to quit Leicester, with him favouring a move to the Emirates.

Interestingly, the 27-year-old has a house in the English capital and would prefer a switch there over a move to Manchester, but this will only be possible if London-based clubs can stump up the big cash Leicester will demand.

Although, the Gunners could face competition when it comes to luring him to the Emirates in the summer, as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur remain alternative options.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Riyad Mahrez has established himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League in recent years, with many of our local residents wanting to see him at the Emirates in the summer. Although, money could be an issue when it comes to talks with Leicester, as the Foxes will demand big cash for the Algerian.
