The Transfer Tavern is seeing a hive of activity around the dartboard this evening, as Sunderland fans are all taking about about a report over the future of their manager that has appeared in The Northern Echo
Speculation has been rife all week over the future of boss Dick Advocaat, will he stay or will he go.
His mind may have been towards staying at half time during todays match against West Ham after seeing his side go in 2-1 up, but eventually they ended up drawing the game 2-2 after having a man sent off.
Advocaat has always said that he will continue to do the job at the club for as long as he believes he can bring them success, and receives the appropriate support from those in the Sunderland board.
Following today’s draw Advocaat is reported to have told journalists, including those from The Northern Echo “No. I don’t want to discuss my own future. You will hear one way or the other. Let’s wait and see.”
“It (my future) has nothing to do with this game. I have made a decision on my future.”
Advocaat decided to leave the club at the end of last season after securing safety from relegation, but was persuaded by chairman Ellis Short to remain at the club for 12 months.
The Sunderland fans currently in The Transfer Tavern are apprehensive about the news that they may be set to lose their manager, as they are more than willing to give him time after the success that he brought the club last season in leading them safety.
Sunderland fans what do you think of the news? Who do you see as your ideal replacement should the manager leave?
