The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with their sides vastly improved defensive record in the Premier League in recent weeks…
Voices of discontent concerning defensive performances are never too far away when the local Kopites are down in the Tavern. However, the club’s defensive record in the last five league matches should give the Liverpool supporters plenty of encouragement moving forward. It appears that Liverpool’s 4-1 thrashing against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in October forced Jurgen Klopp to change his focus on the training pitch. Since their nightmare performance against Spurs, Liverpool have conceded just two league goals from five league matches.

Considering Liverpool’s impressive form in recent weeks, the supporters are bound to be concerned by potentially toxic rumours in SportBild linking Jurgen Klopp with a move to Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Although Klopp will undoubtedly be flattered by the reports, he should remain at Liverpool and prove himself in English football if he wishes to be regarded as one of Europe’s elite managers.
If you look at the most prestigious managers in European football, for example, Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti, there is a common theme that they all share in common.
The common denominator is, of course, that they have all won titles in different European leagues.
So far, Klopp has won two Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund, but he has yet to claim major honours in any other of Europe’s top leagues.
If Klopp wishes to be held in the highest esteem by fans across Europe, then he must refuse the advances of Bayern Munich, stay at Liverpool, and lead the club to their first ever Premier League title.
