Major development in Man Utd transfer saga as Mourinho looks to seal priority deal

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to sign a few more players this summer…

Victor Lindelof is seemingly on the verge of a move, with Man Utd having agreed terms with Benfica over a deal, but that news has left the fans in the pub wanting more. Indeed, with the return of the Champions League next season, big changes are needed at Old Trafford up and down the pitch.

It seems as though Jose Mourinho agrees, and according to the Daily Mail, he is not resting upon his laurels – with the Red Devils reportedly lodging a bid for one of the Portuguese’s¬†primary transfer targets. The Daily Mail are reporting that Man Utd have made their move for Alvaro Morata, with the club making an official bid for the talented Spaniard.

Man Utd’s interest in Morata will certainly not be a surprise, given the demands that Jose Mourinho will likely have made this summer. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to leave, Marcus Rashford cannot be expected to lead the line alone, and so a move for a top forward like Morata makes a lot of sense.

For Morata’s part, the Spaniard has been in fine form over the last year or two, and whilst he struggled for game time at Real Madrid last season, you cannot argue that he did not deserve a bit more action. He bagged 15 goals under very difficult circumstances in La Liga, and so his lethality cannot be doubted.

The Man Utd fans in the pub are very excited.
