Chelsea and Manchester City could battle it out for Malaga midfielder Isco in the summer according to talkSPORT after the player pleased Football Transfer Tavern punters by admitting he is happy to leave La Rosaleda.
The attacking midfielder has helped the Spanish club to forget their financial trouble as they currently sit in the top four of La Liga and will embark on a winnable two legged tie against Porto in the Champions League last 16 starting tomorrow night.
Isco has become the go to man for Malaga this season after they lost Santi Cazorla to Arsenal in the summer but it seems the financial issues will again mean the club have to sell their best players at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has a £30 million buy out clause in his current contract but with Malaga desperate for the money; Manchester City or Chelsea may have to bid significantly less than that to get their man.
The Spanish international is happy to leave the club in order to save them from administration or worse, liquidation.
“I am ready to sacrifice myself for the good of the club,” he told AS.
“I would have no problem in accepting an offer to help Malaga to recover.”
