Man City add another name to the list as club look to secure fresh terms with attacker

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are in dreamland at the moment…

It has been a sensational start to the season for the Citizens, with Pep Guardiola’s team finally playing the sort of football that was expected of them 12 months ago.

Every single Man City player is playing well, and that will be key as the season continues to heat up.

One player that has looked particularly impressive is Raheem Sterling. Though an often undervalued member of the squad, the Englishman has been lethal in front of goal this term, and his fine form seemingly hasn’t gone unnoticed by management.

According to the Daily Star, Man City are looking to secure an agreement with the Englishman in an effort to tie him down to a new contract. Impressed by his form and keen to confirm his long-term future, Sterling is said to have joined a list of several notable names – notably Gabriel Jesus and David Silva – that the club are looking to offer new deals to.

He certainly deserves the praise that has come his way in recent weeks, with one particularly vocal Man City fan in the Transfer Tavern pleading that he has been their player of the season so far.

In truth, whilst there is a lot of talent on display at the club, it’s tough to disagree with that sentiment. After all, he has already bagged 5 Premier League goals.

Landlord’s Verdict

At just 22-years-old, Sterling is a player for the past, present and future of the club, and so offering him a new deal makes a lot of sense.

He has really stepped up his game this year, and whilst some fans in the pub feared he would be left behind by the likes of Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, his form has gone the other way.

It just goes to show what a little bit of faith can do – and a new deal will only improve his form even more.
