Man City and Manchester United face competition for Brazilian defender

Fabinho Fans of both Manchester clubs always scrap amongst each other here in the Transfer Tavern but they must be aware of others lurking- as a reported target is being eyed by a European giant.

Cited by TalkSport, RaiSport state that Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini wants to bring 21-year-old Brazilian full-back Fabinho to the San Siro; where he would join former team-mate Geoffrey Kondogbia, who signed for the Serie A leaders in the summer.

Earlier this summer it was stated Manchester United were keen to sign the £20m-rated defender, whilst reports in France stated around the same time that City were in talks to bring the Brazilian to the Etihad before a £15m move collapsed.

Louis Van Gaal requires a full-back addition due to a lack of numbers on the left-side of defence, with Luke Shaw sidelined for months with a broken leg whilst his cover, Marcos Rojo, also recently picked up an issue.

Inter Milan have been away from the European eye for a while as they battled with financial troubles and fell down the Serie A table but have returned to greatness this season, currently joint-top of the table alongside Fiorentina.
