messi v cityThe Manchester City fans are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing reports that a player they are interested in’s contract negotiations with his current club have stalled.

The Sun is reporting that Lionel Messi’s negotiations over a new deal with Barcelona have stalled giving Manchester City a slim chance of signing the Argentine superstar.

A source close to Messi has reportedly told people that negotiations between the player and the club over an extension to his current deal at the Nou Camp are miles apart.

That leaves City ready to pounce to land the impressive Messi and are will to offer wages of around £800,000 a week to bring him to the Premier League.

The standoff between the player and the club purely come down to his parties financial demands and the La Liga side simply cannot afford to pay out what he is requiring.

The Manchester City fans in The Transfer Tavern are still not convinced that they will ever land Lionel Messi but are hopeful that with the influence of Guardiola they will be able to bring in world class talent to the club.
