Man City braced for return of disappointing defender

The Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not happy about this…

Mangala’s arrival at Man City sent shockwaves around the Transfer Tavern when it was announced – with the £32 million deal expected to be the start of a period of dominance for the Citizens.

However, in reality, the transfer hasn’t really worked out that way – with the French defender largely touted as a flop by the Sky Blues in the Transfer Tavern.

He never really adapted to life in the Premier League, with a number of mistakes and poor performances costing his side points throughout a couple of disappointing seasons.

This, inevitably, led to a departure for the Frenchman over the summer – with a loan move to Valencia expected to rebuild the Frenchman’s career, with Guardiola seemingly expecting that the loan deal could result in a permanent move.

However, according to the Sun, Guardiola may not get his wish – with Valencia reportedly not interested in making the move for Mangala a permanent one.

As a result, Man City will likely be forced to take Mangala back to the club in the summer – despite the fact the defender seemingly has no future at the club.

This has disappointed the Man City fans in the Tavern, many of whom thought they had seen the last of the French flop.

Given his poor form so far this season – our landlord thinks that Man City may struggle to sell him…
